The ZIK at a glance
Building on the pioneering work of the Graz criminal scientist Hans Gross, who is known worldwide as one of the fathers of criminology and criminalistics, the ZiK works on the development of interdisciplinary criminal science research and practice as well as teaching based on this. The ZiK builds bridges between the disciplines that deal with the investigation, explanation, prosecution and prevention of criminal acts. The ZiK works as an interface between university and practice. Criminal science expertise is thus bundled, promoted and transported to the outside world in an interdisciplinary manner in order to support research, teaching and practice in overcoming their challenges. The ZiK relies on the participation of representatives from academia and practice.
