The aim of this specialization is to provide students with interdisciplinary knowledge of current forensic science findings and methods for investigating, solving and preventing criminal acts.
The focus of this specialization is therefore on criminalistics and forensic sciences as practice-relevant, integrated components of interdisciplinary criminal sciences.
The specialization closes a gap in the training of future lawyers by covering the practical challenges faced by law enforcement agencies involved in investigative proceedings and incorporating legal as well as criminalistic and forensic instruments.
The specialization builds the necessary bridges between the non-legal and legal disciplines relevant to criminal prosecution, imparts in-depth knowledge of the legal foundations in the context of criminal justice and provides students with the tools to successfully and dynamically master the challenges of modern criminal justice.
